Cultural Highlights of Fiji
Begin your day with a scenic drive to Nadi, where you will discover the largest Hindu Temple in the South Pacific. The tranquil Sri Siva Subramaniya temple features beautiful paintings and intricate carvings, and presents quite the contrast to the bustling town of Nadi. This temple is one of the few places that exhibits traditional Dravidian
architecture outside of India. All guests will kindly be asked to dress modestly (legs and shoulders must be covered) and remove their shoes prior to entering the temple.
Next, tour the Nadi Market and interact with the friendly locals there, then spend about an hour shopping in Nadi town and Port Denarau.
Continue on to the village of Viseisei, which is the oldest settlement in Fiji and is known as the legendary landing site of the first Fijians. Your guide will take some time here to lead you in exploring and learning about day to day life in a traditional Fijian village. Tour the church, community hall, and village green, as well as the grave stones of important village chiefs.
Finish your tour with a delicious lunch and gorgeous views at a restaurant in a local marina before returning to your ship.
