Experience the stunning beauty of Madeira on a scenic transfer from Funchal through Sao Martinho into the Socorrido Ravine. Departing the pier, travel northwest to Pico dos Barcelos and take in breathtaking views of Funchal and the southern coast.

Continue along winding roads offering spectacular vistas as you make your way to Eira do Serrado. A short, easy walk leads to the summit (about 3,000 feet), where you can admire Madeira's highest peaks and the remote village of Curral das Freiras. This secluded hamlet was historically used by the Santa Clara Convent nuns as a safe haven from 16th-century pirate raids.

Enjoy a coffee break with scones, Chantilly cream, and jam before your coach continues to Terreiro da Luta. If the roads are open, there is an optional stop at Miradouro do Paredao, offering magnificent views of Curral das Freiras, Madeira's highest peaks, and Funchal along the way.

At Terreiro da Luta, see the Peace Monument, a striking basalt column erected in 1925 and topped with a statue of the Virgin and Child. On the return journey, pass through the charming village of Monte before heading back to the pier in Funchal.
