Next, you will arrive at the upper gate of ancient Ephesus. On foot, you and your guide will explore this once-thriving port city, now located three miles inland. Highlights include the Odeon, the Forum, the remarkable Library of Celsus, the Thermal Baths of Scolastika, and the awe-inspiring Great Theater—originally built during the Greek era and later enlarged by the Romans. The theater, famous for its acoustics, hosted concerts until recent years.

Your tour continues with exclusive access to the Terrace Houses, situated on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain opposite the Temple of Hadrian. Often called “the houses of the rich,” these beautifully preserved dwellings offer a rare look at the lives of Ephesus’ elite. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a demonstration of traditional Turkish carpet weaving and shop for local crafts, jewelry, leather goods, and more.
