Your tour begins with a scenic drive to the enchanting Godafoss waterfall, nicknamed “Beauty.” Renowned as one of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls, Godafoss’s name translates to “waterfall of the gods.”

We drive back to Akureyri via the Vikurskard mountain pass, with excellent views over Eyjafjordur and the town. Akureyri is Iceland’s second largest town outside of the capital area and is the heart of North Iceland.

In Akureyri, visit the prominent Lutheran church, designed by the same architect who created Reykjavik’s Hallgrimskirkja. Don’t miss the quaint red and white wooden Catholic Church, a delightful sight that adds to the town’s charm.

Next, we head to the Lystigardurinn botanical gardens, one of the world’s northernmost botanical gardens, located just 50 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle. This serene garden is an ideal spot to relax amidst beautiful flora.

If time allows, we can take a detour to visit the historic Laufas turfroofed houses and the festive Christmas House and Garden on the shore of Eyjafjordur fjord. Laufas, dating back to the 9th century, now hosts a museum that provides a fascinating glimpse into Icelandic history and culture.
