Melissani Lake and Myrtos Beach Tour
Discover some of Kefalonia's most breathtaking natural highlights on this relaxing half-day shore excursion, combining the island's famous underground lake, spectacular coastal scenery, and time to unwind at one of its most beautiful beaches.
Your adventure begins with a visit to the magical Melissani Lake, one of Kefalonia's most celebrated natural attractions. Step aboard a traditional rowboat and glide across the crystal-clear waters of this remarkable underground lake as sunlight streams through the cave's open ceiling, creating dazzling shades of blue and turquoise. Your boatman will share stories about the lake's fascinating history and mythology while you take in the unforgettable surroundings.
Next, travel to the famous Myrtos Viewpoint, where you'll enjoy panoramic views overlooking one of Greece's most photographed beaches. Framed by dramatic white cliffs and vibrant turquoise waters, this scenic stop provides the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photos of Kefalonia's iconic coastline.
Continue to Makris Gialos Beach, one of the island's most popular organized beaches, where you'll enjoy approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time. Swim in the crystal-clear Ionian Sea, relax on the golden sand, or take advantage of the beach's amenities, including beach bars, showers, and restroom facilities. Sunbeds are available for rent (subject to availability). Complimentary beach umbrellas are also available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability, for guests who prefer not to rent beach equipment.
After your time at the beach, rejoin your coach for the comfortable return drive to the cruise port, bringing your memorable day in Kefalonia to a close.
Please Note: During the high season of July and August, passengers may experience crowds while boarding the boats, which will then take them on a 10-15 minute ride that includes entry to the cave. Due to official safety measures implemented by the local authorities, swimming at Myrtos Beach is currently suspended until further notice. This tour now includes a scenic photo stop at the Myrtos Viewpoint, with the swimming portion of the excursion taking place at Makris Gialos Beach instead. The order of the itinerary may vary depending on operational conditions.
