We'll begin our tour by driving along Winston Churchill Avenue to the Spanish border, then head to the East Side of the Rock, through the Dudley Ward Tunnel to the most southerly point of Gibraltar - Europa Point. From this vantage point, on a clear day, you can see the north coast of Africa. We then head to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to visit the spectacular St. Michael’s Cave, which is full of stalactites and stalagmites that have been sculptured through the centuries.
St Michael’s Cave has 75 steps at the exit; however, those guests with walking difficulties may leave the caves via the entrance. We will then visit the Windsor's Bridge and end up at Apes Den, then we move on to meet Gibraltar’s most respected residents - the Barbary apes. These cheeky - and sometimes naughty - monkeys roam freely over the rocks and are not averse to helping themselves to handbags, cameras and food! It's said that Gibraltar will remain British as long as the apes remain on the Rock. After a quick stop, we will head to the Great siege tunnels, also known as the Upper Galleries, are a series of tunnels inside the northern end of the Rock of Gibraltar. One of Gibraltar’s greatest attractions, they were carved out by the merchant marines in order to defend Gibraltar during one of the many sieges, this one aptly called the Great Siege of 1779 to 1783.
Our tour then continues past the Moorish Castle, through the Old Town and on to Main Street. You can then either leave the tour in Main Street and go for shopping and light refreshments. At the you will be picked up from there and taken to the port.
