Step into history as you arrive in Piraeus-the ancient harbor of Athens that dates back to the early 5th century BC. Once the naval powerhouse of classical Greece, Piraeus has transformed into the vibrant gateway to the capital, now one of Europe's busiest ports, welcoming nearly 5 million travelers each year. This bustling port sets the stage for your unforgettable journey into the heart of Athens!

Once you've exited the ship, you'll meet your private guide and begin the journey to Athens. The drive will take you through the suburbs, entering the heart of the city via Syngrou Avenue from the southwest. Along the way, you'll pass several notable landmarks, including the Temple of Olympian Zeus-Greece's largest Corinthian-style temple, which took over 700 years to complete. You'll also see Hadrian's Arch, a symbolic divide between the ancient and Roman parts of the city, as well as the National Gardens, the National Library, and Constitution Square, home to the Hellenic Parliament.

Your independent six-hour exploration in Athens begins with a drop-off in Plaka, one of the city's most charming neighborhoods. This picturesque area is a maze of cobblestone pedestrian streets filled with boutiques, souvenir shops, flea markets, and artisan stands. Whether you prefer shopping, relaxing in a traditional taverna or cafe, or visiting one of the local museums or exhibitions, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy Plaka at your own pace.

At the designated time, you'll reboard your motorcoach for the return journey to the port of Piraeus.
