Description

After disembarking from your cruise, meet your private driver at the designated meeting location at the port. Your driver will assist you with the transfer and ensure you are comfortably settled into your private vehicle before departing.

Enjoy views of San Juan along the way while your driver handles the transportation. Since the vehicle is reserved exclusively for your group, you will have a direct and comfortable journey without the need to arrange transportation independently after your cruise.

Head to the harbor area of Old San Juan and begin your walking exploration through one of the most historic districts in the Caribbean. Start along the Paseo de la Princesa, or Princess Promenade, a scenic waterfront walkway lined with historic architecture and local character. Continue toward La Fortaleza, the official residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico. From outside, your guide will share the history of this remarkable structure and its more than 450 years of connection to San Juan.

Continue toward the San Juan Gate, a historic entrance built in the 16th century to provide access to the walled city from the harbor. From there, make your way toward Castillo San Felipe del Morro, better known as El Morro. Standing on the expansive lawn outside the fortress, listen as your guide explains the construction, military importance, and history of this iconic landmark.

Continue to the Ballajá Barracks, a historic structure originally built by the Spanish military in the 19th century. Learn about its changing role through the years, including its use during the Spanish-American War and World War II. Today, the building serves as a center for cultural and educational activities.

Your walking tour continues to San José Church, one of the oldest surviving examples of Spanish Gothic architecture in the Western Hemisphere. Learn about the church's long construction history and its connection to Juan Ponce de León, the first governor of Puerto Rico. Stroll along Cristo Street and catch a glimpse of Casa Blanca, a historic residence associated with the Ponce de León family. Built in the 16th century, the property offers another fascinating connection to San Juan's early colonial history. Take a short break at El Convento Hotel, a charming property housed in a former convent. Enjoy some time to rest before continuing your exploration.

Next, visit the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, one of the city's most important religious landmarks. Construction began in the early 16th century, making it one of the oldest buildings in San Juan and one of the oldest cathedrals in the Americas. Continue along San Francisco Street toward Plaza de Colón, also known as Columbus Square. Admire the large statue of Christopher Columbus and learn about the history of this popular gathering place.

As you travel from Old San Juan, enjoy the views while your driver takes you directly to the Caribe Hilton Hotel. Upon arrival at the Caribe Hilton, your driver will drop you off at the hotel entrance, allowing you to continue your San Juan Experience.
