Your journey begins with a relaxing drive through the Costa Rican countryside aboard an air-conditioned vehicle. Along the way, your guide will point out plantations, fruit stands, and rural communities before arriving at Hacienda Santa Lucia, approximately one hour from the pier.

Enjoy a guided rainforest nature walk through lush tropical forest and across hanging bridges while your guide introduces you to the area's remarkable wildlife and native plants. Keep an eye out for monkeys, colorful birds, reptiles, and other rainforest inhabitants while taking in the beautiful natural surroundings.

Next, travel to the famous Tarcoles River, where you'll board a relaxing boat cruise through one of Costa Rica's most important wildlife habitats. Watch for the region's famous American crocodiles along the riverbanks, as well as scarlet macaws, herons, iguanas, monkeys, and many other native species found throughout the surrounding mangrove forests.

Following your river cruise, stop at the Crocs Skywalk, where you can enjoy panoramic views overlooking the Tarcoles River, browse for locally crafted souvenirs, or purchase lunch featuring traditional Costa Rican cuisine at your own expense.

Before returning to the cruise pier, guests docking in Puntarenas will enjoy a brief sightseeing drive through Puntarenas City, the largest city on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. Please note this portion of the tour is not included for ships docking in Puerto Caldera.

Please Note: This tour includes a walk along a trail through the rainforest and the mountains, and is not recommended for guests with limited mobility. Rainy weather may affect the conditions of the trail. There is slippery and uneven terrain, and several steps. Guests must be able to walk at least a mile over gravel, concrete, packed dirt, and grass terrain, some of which is at an incline.
