Shopping, Sightseeing & Beach Day Excursion in St. Maarten

Two countries on one island for almost 400 years. Wouldn't you love to know how they do it? Come along on this unique St. Maarten excursion for an Island Drive with a twist. You'll explore parts of the island rarely seen by cruise guests.

Departing the cruise terminal, you'll drive through part of Philipsburg toward Cole Bay and Belle Vue. Along the way, enjoy a photo stop at the Harold Jack lookout point—high on a hill overlooking the sea. Weather permitting, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the neighboring islands: Saba (home of Kong in the original King Kong movie), St. Eustatius to the south, and British Anguilla to the north. As you crest the hill, you’ll also glimpse Simpson Bay and its scenic lagoon.

The tour continues to Marigot, the charming French capital. This quaint village features a delightful blend of Caribbean and French influences—sidewalk cafés serve cappuccino beneath swaying palms and alongside mega-yachts. Gourmet restaurants sit in the shadow of a 200-year-old fort, while open-air markets filled with bold tropical prints mix seamlessly with high-end fashion from French boutiques. You’ll have free time to explore and enjoy this captivating fusion of cultures.

Returning to Philipsburg through the heart of the island, you'll have the option to be dropped off downtown for shopping or continue back to the pier.

Guests choosing to stay downtown must arrange their own transportation back to the cruise terminal by taxi, water taxi, or on foot at their own expense.
