Treasures of Gran Canaria

Your journey of exploration and discovery begins as soon as you board the comfortable bus or minivan for a scenic ride to the Guayadeque caves.

Guayadeque is in Aguimes and it isn't far from the resorts in the south. The Guayadeque region is a big canyon, stretching from the middle of the island to the Aguimes coast. Explore the caves and learn the history of the ancient Canaries. While here, step into an aboriginal troglodyte village and tour its interpretation museum.

At Port Mogan, also referred to as the Southern Venice, you can stroll through one of the island's most beautiful urban settlements. The marina, where many international sailing enthusiasts converge, has 225 moorings and is an excellent sailing spot, making the port an unforgettable place. For those interested in culture, a walk through the streets of the centre is recommended, to see the church of Saint Anthony (Iglesia de San Antonio), built in 1814. The church includes a beautiful wooden carving and statues of Saint Anthony of Padua and the Immaculate Conception.

Conclude your time in Gran Canaria with a side trip to the Maspalomas Dunes, declared a Natural Reserve in 1987. The sand originated from coral reefs crushed into fine golden grains of limestone by the grinding action of glaciers over thousands of years ago. Even today, the dunes are moving at the rate of 2 to 5 meters from east to west.

Throughout the tour your friendly and knowledgeable local guide will point out items of interest and share fun facts about this fascinating part of the world. There will also be some free time for swimming and relaxing on the beach.

Reserve your spot today and get ready to experience the treasures of Gran Canaria.
