Victoria's Eat Like a Canadian Tour

Bienvenue au Canada! Discover the flavours that define a nation on the immersive culinary walking tour through Victoria's historic downtown. From iconic dishes to regional ingredients, this experience showcases Canadian food culture through engaging storytelling, tastings, and local insights. Stroll from Fisherman's Wharf to the Inner Harbour as your expert local guide shares the stories behind each bite.

Along the way, enjoy seven curated tastings that highlight the diversity of Canadian cuisine. Sample traditional Indigenous bannock, local smoked seafood, poutine, Hawaiian pizza (yes, it was invented in Canada!), a Nanaimo bar, maple syrup, handcrafted chocolates from Canada's oldest chocolatier, and a classic Canadian cocktail.

Your culinary journey begins at Finest At Sea Fish Market, where you'll savour local specialties such as candied salmon and smoked tuna. Next door, experience Indigenous- inspired cuisine at Imagine Studio Cafe. From there, head to Fisherman's Wharf to enjoy Hawaiian pizza from a floating pizzeria while learning about its surprising Canadian origins. As you stroll along James Bay, your guide will go into the early history of Victoria including the influence of George Vancouver and the impact of the gold rush.

The tour will then proceed into the Inner Harbour among some of the most iconic buildings in the city including the Steamship Terminal Building, the Legislative Building, and the Empress Hotel. Along the way, enjoy a classic Candian cocktail, the Caesar, and learn why Canadians consume over 400 million of them each year. At the tasting room, sample Canada's most famous export, maple syrup, alongside the beloved Naaimo bar, a sweet West Coast classic and the perfect edible souvenir.

On a busy Government street, the tour will stop at two iconic Canadian businesses including Rogers' Chocolates, the oldest chocolate shop in Canada, and BeaverTails. Here, you will taste poutine, a Quebec dish that contains fries, cheese curds, and gravy, rich, indulgent, and unmistakably Canadian.

From coast-to-coast flavours to fascinating stories, this tour is a must for food lovers and curious travellers alike. Join us for an unforgettable taste of Canada in the heart of Victoria.
