Leixoes is one of Portugal's major seaports, located 4 km north of the mouth of the Douro River, in Matosinhos municipality, near the city of Porto. Leixoes Sport Club, commonly known simply as Leixoes, is Matosinhos' sports club. Porto is world famous for it's port wine and UNESCO World Heritage site Ribiera. It's a popular cruise destination along the Atlantic Ocean. From the cruise port of Leixoes it's easy to reach the city center of this nice port town in the heart of the Matosinhos district on foot.
